Family Beach Session

Sacramento Photographer

If you have access to a beach, I cannot recommend taking photos there more highly. Doing a beach session not only makes for beautiful photos, but a set of core family memories that are sure to last forever.

Why Choose a Beach Session

This family is from Texas but spends a month every summer at their lake house in Michigan. Knowing how much this beach meant to the family made it a no-brainer when we were deciding where to take their photos. They chose neutral outfits that would flow with the lake breeze, and we set out to just have a good time and capture their family as they are.

We played games, built in the sand, and just explored the water. And I had my camera up every step of the way. This type of documentary-style session is perfect for families with little kids as it allows them to be themselves without having to worry too much about staying in the same position and smiling. After all, we’re trying to capture that pure joy in a kid’s heart. Side note – this type of beach session would be perfect for adding video to your session!

Where to Find a Beach Near You

If you live on a coast, finding a beach is obviously a little easier. But you can find a beach near you in many different places all over the country. Have a river near you with some fun strips of beaches? Use that! Do you have a lake that you love visiting with your family? That would be perfect! The beach doesn’t have to stretch for miles and miles; it just has to be someplace fun to play with your family. That’s it. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
