Sunset Beach Date Night

When you’re planning a photo session for you and your partner, my best advice is to make it a date night!

Why Date Night?

No one wants to look at their photos and see stiff, awkward poses. While life can be quite awkward sometimes, your photos shouldn’t feel that way. And they certainly shouldn’t feel stiff. So making your photos part of a date night, or simply documenting the date itself, is the perfect way to capture your unique story.

What To Do For Date Night?

There are so many options! This session was a simple hangout at the beach, but you could start at a cafe, take a walk around your city or neighborhood, or play in the park with your dogs. Maybe hit up a farmer’s market or make a meal at home. Your photos should reflect YOUR love.

What Should We Wear?

My biggest advice is that you should feel confident in whatever you choose to wear. Dress up, dress down, but whatever you do – make sure you feel like a snack when you’re done getting ready.

When it comes to color, think neutrals or colors of the “dusty” variety (i.e. dusty blue, blush pink, sage green, etc.). And yes, this even applies to swimsuits! I typically suggest against bright colors under most circumstances (there are always exceptions, though). In general, neutrals stand the test of time and will not take away from the genuine emotion and feeling in the photos.
