If you’re reading this then you have probably asked yourself this exact question! We’re here to answer how often you should get photos taken and is there really such thing as “too much”?

Frequency Of Getting Photos Done

As a photographer, I really encourage people to have photos taken in every season and stage of life. Your life is worth celebrating and getting photos done and documenting those moments are far beyond priceless!

For families with small children, I encourage photos at least every year or 6 months if they can swing it. Those little ones grow so quickly, especially for the first two years, that you’re going to want to remember them being that small and how precious they are. When it comes to older kids, I definitely recommend at least once a year or every other year. The same goes for couples – every year or every other. So make sure to find a photographer you love and plan ahead!

This family has hired me twice a year for the last four years. And it absolutely the best thing to feel like you are a part of and growing with a family by capturing their memories.

Special Moments To Capture

When you really feel like a family or couples go-to photographer, it is the coolest feeling to be able to capture moments and grow with a family. Being able to see them through all stages of life is amazing. As these girls grow and change, it’s been really fun to see their individual personalities come out in the photos over the years.

We were able to take individual portraits that reflect their differences and unique personalities. Which is a great way to highlight each of them as their own people within the family. The oldest has grown up so much, and during this session we were really able to take some “grown up” photos of her. It was seriously so much fun!!

Additionally, this just felt like the coziest session between the location in Davis, California Davis and their jewel-toned dresses.

So no matter the time of year, capturing and celebrating your season is always important. They’re memories that will truly last a lifetime.
