My 5 Favorite Outdoor Sacramento Photo Locations

When it comes to choosing where you want your outdoor photos taken in Sacramento, there are so many wonderful options. Here are five of my absolute favorite Sacramento photo locations in and around the city:

Sailor Bar Park in Fair Oaks

This park is a hidden gem in the area, but its expansive rolling hills and tucked away spots make for stunning photos all year round. With so many areas to explore, Sailor Bar is a location that you can visit time and time again and get different photos every time. It’s perfect for anyone who is looking for a location that feels like you escaped to the countryside for the afternoon!

Cactus Garden in Capitol Park

Located toward the 15th St. Side of Capitol Park, this small little area is gorgeous and so different than other locations around the city. If you’re looking for a different type of environment but someplace that is still outdoors, the Cactus Garden is the perfect location. While not the biggest area, the view changes with every turn and provides a great variety of photos for your finished gallery. Don’t miss this fun location!

Beeks Bight in Granite Bay

Who knew you could find the Scottish Highlands in Northern California? The giant boulders and vast landscape are truly breathtaking. Kids love climbing on the rocks, and I love documenting my clients’ families wandering and enjoying this new (to them) environment. Beeks Bight is an absolutely stunning location that cannot be missed!

Leland Stanford Mansion

If you’ve never visited this historical site in Sacramento, you need to make a trip there! The mansion has amazing architecture and every angle provides a new backdrop for your photos. Your gallery will be full of new and exciting corners of this magnificent space! From the stairs to the doorways to the incredible checkered tile, this location is the perfect spot for anyone who wants outdoor photos but a little less nature!

Land Park

Land Park is an amazing location for all families and couples! Between the rock garden, the amphitheater, and the multitude of trees and open grassy areas, this park across the street from Fairytale Town really has it all. And with easy access from the parking lot, it’s a great option for those hot summer days!

If you want a documentary-style newborn session but don’t want to do it in your home, choosing a studio newborn session is a great option! About the Studio When I designed my studio in Midtown Sacramento, I wanted to make it feel like a home away from home. When you walk in, I didn’t want […]

When you’re planning a photo session for you and your partner, my best advice is to make it a date night!  Why Date Night? No one wants to look at their photos and see stiff, awkward poses. While life can be quite awkward sometimes, your photos shouldn’t feel that way. And they certainly shouldn’t feel […]
